"Citius, Altius, Fortius" which is Latin for "Faster, Higher, Stronger", was the 2008 motto for the Olympic games. These three words convey an ideal that calls for personal excellence; in essence that giving one's best and striving for personal excellence is a worthwhile goal.

We can look to Team USA's sweep in the 400-meter hurdles as the ultimate embodiment of that ideal. Silver medallist Kerron Clement predicted that his team would take home the gold, silver, and bronze medals and that is just what they did. Team USA clearly took the Olympic motto to heart and were able to realize their goals. Fortunately for us, this is a motto that transcends the Olympic games and can be applied to our every day lives.

A major factor in making your goals a reality is to believe in the possibility. Here are three tips to help you make your goals a reality!

Tip #1: Envision It: You have to see it to believe it. Take a moment to envision yourself achieving your goals. You may want to take it a step further and write your goals down in an effort to make them more tangible.
Tip #2: Believe In It: You have to believe in yourself and your ability to achieve your goals if you have any chance of succeeding in making them a reality.
Tip #3: Work For It: Making your goals a reality will not happen by accident. You need to work for it in order to make your goals a reality.
