Marilyn Martyn has an online tutoring business after retiring from full time English and literacy teaching in primary and secondary schools. Her passion is reading and teaching children how to read. Marilyn's extensive teaching experience has made her passionate about the importance of systematic phonics instruction for young children in the early years of learning to read. She has worked with too many teenagers who lack the ability to decode text and knows from experience what heartache and limited opportunity this lack of knowledge causes. It is her mission to help as many children as possible to become fluent readers.
