Applying the law of attraction to any area of your life is always an exciting experience. But finding your true love is an especially wonderful adventure filled with joy, hope, passion and love.

But before we start manifesting Mr. or Ms. Right, we want to take a step back and get a better understanding of how the law of attraction works, specifically in the area of love.

Step 1: KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT

We all know that creation begins with thought. This is the foundation of the law of attraction after all, so it's really important that we remember this at all times - creation begins with thought.

So, taking this concept to heart, we could conclude that the Universe will provide us with someone who matches our unique idea of a soul mate. Someone who has all the attributes and characteristics that we so greatly value, right?

Well, yes and no.

Remember, the Universe also operates on the premise of "like attracts like" so if you've got some relationship baggage to clear, its very possible that the Universe will provide you with opportunities to do just that. Take these opportunities and clear these blocks, drop that baggage and you'll discover that the manifestation process becomes much, much easier.

When you choose to manifest something in your life, what you're really doing is instructing the Universe to guide you to a specific set of opportunities. Someone who chooses to manifest a deep and loving relationship with their perfect partner should not be surprised to suddenly find unique and interesting ways to meet new people and opportunities to love. Because that's how the Universe works.

"Negative" experiences that are presented over and over again are actually opportunities to clear our own baggage and restrictive thinking. So make sure to keep these "negative" experiences - and positive ones too - in perspective.

 

Step 2: KNOWING WHAT YOU REALLY WANT

The Universe LOVES surprising us! So much so in fact, that one of its core principles is to "relax and allow". That means no peeking in your gift box before its time to unwrap - you'll just have to wait and see!

Of course, that doesn't mean you can't make a list to help the Universe do your shopping - in fact, that's what the law of attraction is all about!

Because when you think about it, you want more than just someone you can go dancing with, right?

What you really want is someone who's connected to you and your Source and passionate and loving... someone who excites you and inspires you and loves to make you laugh... all of these things are so much more important than physical attributes or geographic location so why limit yourself in these areas?

Your special someone - and the relationship you build together - will be everything you dream about but you have to be open and receptive to what the Universe can bring to you.

When you're ordering from the Universe, the sky's the limit so think about all the wonderful traits you'd like your perfect partner to have and then visualize that special someone with you right now!

Put your list in a very visible place - such as on your refrigerator - so that you see it on a regular basis and every time it crosses your path, take a moment to read through your list to reinforce your true desires.

 

Step 3: MATCHING YOUR ACTIONS TO YOUR DESIRES

When you desire something, you must do more than just "see it" in your mind - you must also align yourself with that particular reality while gently moving away from the reality that you no longer want.

What that means is that you start meeting and dating new people.

You essentially begin to transform your life from your current reality to your desired reality so that when your dreams show up, you're ready.

Ask yourself seriously, "Is there a place for a partner in your life?"

If the perfect partner walked up and knocked on your door right this minute...

• could you fit him or her into your life?
• Could they live in your house?
• Do you have time to devote to your dream relationship?
• Are you available for "couple time" or have you filled every waking moment with other obligations?

In fact, until your actions match your desires, you probably wouldn't notice the love of your life anyway - you'd simply be too caught up in your current reality to really see them for who they are.

Now - take a look at what distractions are keeping you from your soulmate and make a list. We can all find reasons for not reaching for our goals and most of us have several distractions in common such as TV, emotions and problems. We find ourselves addicted to our current schedule, habits and routines - But if you keep doing what you're doing - you're going to keep getting what you've got.

So now make a list of how you can change your priorities to include love - how can you open your schedule to meeting and dating new people?

The next thing I want you to do is start looking around at your life and literally "make room" for your new partner. Clean out a drawer in your dresser and set an extra place at the dinner table. Make some space in your closet, clean off a nightstand and designate an area on the bathroom sink for his or her personal effects.

Give them a place to park, a place to sit, a place to "exist" in your life.

Write your sweetheart love letters, give them Christmas gifts, send them cards, talk to them while you make dinner... Not in a longing way... just an "ahhh... there you are" kind of way... This will create the vacuum for your romantic partner to literally walk through your door.
